They marched, they staggered, they strolled and they sneaked!

They marched, they staggered, they strolled and they sneaked!

Congratulations to the 40 Lower School pupils who marched, staggered, strolled and sneaked their way across the stage in Stephen Briggs’ adaptation of Terry Pratchett's 'Monstrous Regiment' last week.

It really was a production on the move with the first performance in a field camp, where audience members enjoyed a typical midsummer festival atmosphere with rugs and picnics; the subsequent evenings de-camped to the Russell Hall where cast and crew adapted the staging to utilise the more sophisticated facilities and everyone stayed dry!

This was an ensemble piece but special praise must go to Eleanor Sloan as the resourceful Polly, Faye Thompsett whose caffeine-deprived Maladict provided a certain amount of interactive urgency with the picnics, and Thomas Fox as Lieutenant Blouse who discovered inner starch under Discworld pressure.
