Talented quartet take on fresh challenge

Celebrations as Wisbech Grammar School’s Senior Prefects for the next academic year are appointed!

Following a rigorous selection procedure, Tarn Chamberlain-James (Downham Market) and Oliver Mann (Wimblington) have been appointed Heads of School. They and their Deputies, Katy Landles (King’s Lynn) and James Horsburgh (Wisbech), will take on duties such as organising pupil events, leading tours, providing hospitality to guests, supporting staff and upholding the ethos and values of the School.

Tarn and Oliver already play an important part in the wider life of the School. Both hold Scholarship awards and are studying the Sciences at A Level.  However, they are also involved in a wide range of activities around school with involvement in academic clubs and societies. Oliver plays first team sports in all three terms and Tarn plays a leading role in the extensive Language Leaders programme run at the School.  The Deputy Heads of School are equally outstanding role models, James in an exceptional musician and Katy is a budding politician with a real interest in the Arts. As a quartet, they make an extremely balanced team with interests and expertise in many fields.

Senior Deputy Head, Mr Tim McConnell-Wood said:

The pupils all performed extremely well through the rigorous selection process. All displayed excellent interview skills and a wide understanding of the nature of leadership and the ethos of the School. They will be role models for the other pupils in the School, a role they already fulfil magnificently and will act as an important communication link between the pupil body and the senior school management.

The School is very fortunate in having such a talented group of young people to help take it forward.
