Wisbech Grammar School has always had a strong reputation for providing an all-round education that inspires – and is inspiring – but our new scholarship programme will enable us to enhance our educational offering further by recognising and rewarding pupils of outstanding ability.
Scholarships are offered at the three core entry points of entry into the 1st Form (Year 7), 3rd Form (Year 9) and Lower 6th Form (Year 12). They carry financial rewards in the form of a £1,000 per annum fee remission for the 1st and 3rd Forms and a £1,500 per annum reduction for the Lower 6th Form.
There are two types of scholarship. Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the very strongest academic performance as assessed by an entrance exam and interview, supported by predicted grades and reference from the Head of the pupil’s current school.
All-Rounder Scholarships are awarded on the basis of strong academic performance and are intended to enable any pupil demonstrating all-round ability and leadership skills to benefit from an education at Wisbech Grammar School in order to develop their particular talents in fields such as sports, the arts, music and drama.
Scholars are expected to maintain the highest standards of attainment and engagement in their academic work while demonstrating a real commitment to activities that enrich school life. They are expected to attend academic-based extracurricular activities and enrichment lectures, and also serve as role models for other pupils.
