Fresh and exciting dance opportunities at Wisbech Grammar School

Wisbech Grammar School is thrilled to announce our partnership with Studio 19 offering dance opportunities to our pupils as part of their co-curricular activities. Studio 19 will also be offering dance to the wider community of Wisbech and surrounding areas, with evening classes out of the new studio at the School.

Studio 19 was founded by Josh and Vicki Wille in 2014; they met and trained at London’s Central School of Ballet and went on to enjoy successful individual careers before they married.  Studio 19 is passionate about offering opportunities to young people to explore dance and build confidence and well-being. This ethos mirrors that of Wisbech Grammar School who believes that educational development is not simply confined to the classroom or laboratory, but found in the art rooms, drama and dance studios, sports fields and music rooms.

We go beyond the narrow boundaries of exam specifications, giving an all-round education that inspires. Our co-curricular timetable reflects this and includes ‘period 5’ which is devoted to pupils exploring their interests and finding their passion.

The new dance studio at WGS will be open at the start of term September 2017. The whole school and wider community will be able to take advantage of all that Studio 19 have to offer in their scheduled evening classes running out of the new dance studio at Wisbech Grammar School.

The School also has a progressive Music and Performing Arts programme which will also be taking advantage of the new studio. Head of Performing Arts, Mr Al Duncan, is a real inspiration to the pupils and is passionate about taking pupils forward regardless of age, ability or confidence, to enjoy the benefits gained from taking part in Performing Arts.   He and a group of pupils have set up a theatre company through the School, aptly named “On the Brink Theatre Company”. The Company has travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to perform their contemporary musical comedy “Life – To Go….”

At Wisbech Grammar School, we don’t just say, “wouldn't it be nice to…..”, we actually make it happen!
