Cricket round up. It's all about  "Team work" at Wisbech Grammar School

Round up of this week's Cricket saw  Wisbech Grammar School play some great cricket with solid team performances across both our boys and girls Cricket Teams!

Thursday 15 June

1st X1 Girls defeat Oundle School 1st X1 in a thrilling match. 

WGS batted first and posted 89-9 off their 20 overs. When Oundle batted they were pegged back by good bowling from the WGS attack. Hannah, Issy, Ellie and Asena all took wickets. Oundle finished 9 runs short on 80. A great win for WGS.

Boys' Cricket v Carre's Grammar School

The U14 boys' attack performed well to bowl Carre's out for 80 runs in their allotted overs. WGS batted well with a solid team performance to gain a comfortable win.

The U15 team won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a prestigious total of 176 off their 20 overs. Will Gowler top scored with a superb 90 runs. The WGS bowling attack then performed well to restrict Carre's to 103 runs, capping off a wonderful performance with a superb win.

Neil Taylor has recently been employed by Wisbech Grammar School as Lead Cricket Coach. He has been involved with playing and coaching cricket at County level for more than 30 years.
