On Friday 5 May, Wisbech Grammar School welcomed back former Grammarian Tom Berry, now the CEO of Chameleon PR, to give an enrichment lecture to the 5th and 6th Form on communication in the modern world.
Based in London, Chameleon PR are part of the Global PR Network, which they also founded. They work with companies including Google and Unity, the cross-platform gaming company. Chameleon was founded in 1998 with the mission to “Transform Corporate Colours”, they remain true to that mission today and deliver on it according to three principles, one of which is 'Passion for People'.
Over 140 pupils listened as Tom spoke about his career in journalism, before going on to talk about the importance on communication in the real world, touching on 'fake news', having clarity and accountability in what and how you communicate and what actually makes up an effective conversation.
After speaking to the WGS pupils Tom said:
The most reassuring thing about coming back to WGS after more than 20 years was the brilliance of the pupils. Wisbech Grammar, for me, has always about supporting and nurturing inquisitive and sparky approaches - people who see the world differently. The School challenges the status quo and encourages a bright and successful path for its pupils. It was an immense pleasure to talk to the Upper School and I really look forward to coming back again soon.
