BENJAMIN YORK REACHES CRANMER AWARD NATIONAL FINALS

Upper Sixth Form pupil, Benjamin York will be representing both the School and the Diocese of Norwich at the forthcoming National Finals of the Thomas Cranmer Awards, 2017 on Saturday 25th February.

The annual competition, which is run by the Prayer Book Society, requires candidates to recite up to five minutes of their own choice of extracts from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, and will be held at the Bishop’s Palace in Worcester.

The purpose of the competition is to encourage young people to think, engage and ultimately experience the power of vocalising some of the finest examples of the English language.

Teacher of Drama, Mrs Susan Duncan said: “Ben has done extremely well to reach the National Finals, we wish him all the best for the next stage of the competition in February.”
