All at Wisbech Grammar School observe a minute's silence this morning to honour London Bridge victims
At the end of break this morning, to reflect on the incident in London on Saturday night, pupils and staff across the Prep and Senior Schools gathered to observe a minute's silence to honour the victims. Senior Deputy Head, Mr Tim McConnell-Wood said that the incidents in London on Saturday and in Manchester last week reminded us of how fortunate we are to live in such a tolerant society and that we must not take our freedoms for granted. The pupils were asked to observe a minute's silence in prayer and thought for those who had lost their lives and were injured.
O God, we pray for those who have been murdered and injured on the streets of our cities. We commit to your loving care those who have died, beseeching you to receive their souls into the mercy of your love. Comfort their loved ones who mourn. Enable them to meet the lonely and painful days ahead in the strength of your love. Let the love that you have made known to us lead us to create safer streets for all to walk upon. Amen.
Mr Tim McConnell-Wood, Senior Deputy Head
