5th Former, Kenzie Whyatt, achieves podium success in the English Nationals at Sheffield.

Kenzie recently took part in the British Nationals when she competed in a 3K open water and finished 5th in her age group.  Just 10 days later, Kenzie gained a place in three finals at the English Nationals for 100, 200 and 400 freestyle, gaining a bronze medal in the 400m.  She now ranks 19th in 400m freestyle with a personal best time of 4:29.25, and 24th in 200m with a personal best time of 2:08.47.

To achieve this level of outstanding swimming, Kenzie, coached by Ben Negus at the COPS (City of Peterborough Swimming Club) trains 8 times per week, waiting at an eye-watering 4.45am to swim from 5.30 until 7am when she then travels to Wisbech Grammar School to commence her academic day.

We are very proud of Kenzie’s achievements and she is a great role model for other pupils. We fully support her passion for swimming and encourage all of our pupils to discover who they are and who they could become.

Tom Calow, Head of Middle School
